New works done at Les Tapies

I returned to southern France this July, to the exquisite Les Tapies. This is an artist's retreat, specifically for art teachers, in the Ardeche region of south-eastern France. It is in the foothills of the Alps. It is like a summer camp for art teachers! I was able to produce some new works, in a variety of media. It was a restorative and regenerating experience being there. Here is a sample of some of the work I created while there. I hope you enjoy it!

Japan Faces

I have just returned from a two week fellowship at an art retreat, in southern France. While there I painted out of doors, 'en plein aire', in the exquisite country side, but what I am sharing here are some monoprints I created that were inspired by imagery from my trip to Japan back in November. It may seem odd that these images were created in southern France, but I was so charged up and inspired while there that these dormant images came forth from my unconscious.
