Japan Faces

I have just returned from a two week fellowship at an art retreat, in southern France. While there I painted out of doors, 'en plein aire', in the exquisite country side, but what I am sharing here are some monoprints I created that were inspired by imagery from my trip to Japan back in November. It may seem odd that these images were created in southern France, but I was so charged up and inspired while there that these dormant images came forth from my unconscious.

Mixed media collages

These next few pieces are from a series I created that emerged from work I am doing from life, with the figure, issues dealing with relationships (with others and the self) and body image.

This first piece is titled "Number One"

Ode to the Girl on An Urn Series

The following seven prints are a series that pull from classic and modern perceptions of female beauty and form. The words allude to 'Ode on a Grecian Urn'.
